The Snowmass-Wildcat Fire Protection District provides Emergency Medical Services to the citizens and visitors of Snowmass Village and the surrounding area. This is done with three state of the art Advanced Life Support (ALS) equiped ambulances.  These ambulances are staffed with ALS trained Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians.

Medical Protocols:

The Roaring Fork Valley has adopted valley wide medical protocols.   The protocols are a series of treatment modalities for specific illnesses and injuries.  This insures consistant care throughout the service area.  These protocols are reviewed annually and submitted to the Medical Director.  

EMT-Basic and Paramedic Certifications:

The EMT-Basic and Paramedic certification is based on requirements that are regulated by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, Department of Transportation and other local requirements. 

In addition, many of our Paramedics hold certifications in the following areas:

· ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support

· PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support

· AMLS - Advanced Medical Life Support

· PHTLS or BTLS - Advanced Trauma Certification
