The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for business inspections, life safety inspections, plan review, building code inforcement, and public education.  This department is supervised by the Fire Marshal.  The Fire Marshal is assisted with these responsiblilities by the Fire Inspector and on-duty personnel.  

The Fire Marshal is also responsible for fire investigations. Every fire is investigated to determine its cause and origin by the Fire Marshal and responding companies.  The Fire Marshal may request additional outside resources as needed.
