We are currently accepting applications for: 

Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic & Resident Firefighter/EMT

 

We do not currently have any Firefighter/Paramedic positions open.  We continue to test candidates on an ongoing basis establishing an eligibility list for the future.

All Applicants must be:

· Eighteen (18) years of age upon appointment

· Physically and mentally capable of performing the functions of the position for which you are applying

· Able to pass an oral interview

· Able to pass a physical agility test (For suppression positions)

· Able to pass a written exam

 

Firefighter/Paramedic:

Starting Salary is $50,000 with excellent benefits. Pay is based on a 56 hour work week based on a modified Kelly schedule.  This schedule averages ten 24 hour days per month.  


Firefighter/Paramedics are required to have the following at a minimum for this position:

· Firefighter I or higher

· Hazmat Operations or higher

· Current State of Colorado Paramedic Certification or Current National Registry Paramedic and the ability to obtain State of Colorado reciprocity.

· Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification

 

Preference is given to Firefighter/Paramedics with the following:

· State of Colorado or IFSAC Certified Firefighter Certifications

· State of Colorado or IFSAC Certified Hazardous Materials Certifications

· State of Colorado or IFSAC Certified Driver / Operator Certifications

Resident Firefighter:

Resident firefighters are required to work one 24 hour shift a week to be eligible for station housing.  A stipend of $75.00 per shift is offered.  Resident firefighters are covered by workman’s compensation insurance while on duty and participating in mandatory trainings. 

 

Resident firefighters are required to have the following at a minimum for this position: 

· Current State of Colorado EMT-Basic or Current National Registry EMT-Basic and the ability to obtain State of Colorado Reciprocity

 

Preference is given to Resident Firefighters with the following: 

· Fire Academy or equivalent fire experience.

· State of Colorado or IFSAC Certified Firefighter Certifications

· State of Colorado or IFSAC Certified Hazardous Materials Certifications

· State of Colorado or IFSAC Certified Driver / Operator Certifications

 

Paid-on-Call Firefighter:

Paid-on-Call firefighters are required to work one 24 hour shift per month.  A stipend of $75.00 per shift is offered per shift.  In addition, Paid-on-Call firefighters are encouraged to repond to all calls when available.  Paid-on-Call firefighters are covered by workman’s compensation insurance while on duty and participating in mandatory trainings.  If you are interested in becoming a paid-on-call firefighter please stop by the station and talk to the on-duty crew.
